Please note: we are currently in the procees of preparing a new, much larger and
more informative website, which we hope to have up and running by the year end.

September 2008
We have had a busy summer on our building site. The old Church and Manse has been demolished, the footings and foundations have been put in place and we held a first dig ceremony.
On August 14th Mrs. Ena Ridyard, widow of former minister Rev Eric Ridyard, and elder for many years, Mr Rob Crookes, performed the first dig ceremony on the site. Members of the church were present and John Brewster led prayers of blessing.
The overall cost of the project is £2.1 million. The church has raised over £850,000 in its own right. This is a tremendous effort and tribute to their vision and commitment to the project for which we are thankful.
We are also thankful for the support of the Big Lottery Fund Community Buildings Programme, The Coalfields Regeneration Trust, and the Landfill Communities Fund of Waste Recycling Group, without whose help we would not be able to progress.
Work continues at a pace and to currently the steel structure is being erected. At this moment in time the construction is ahead of schedule with completion due early in the summer of 2009.
